Retirement celebration planned for Corey Farris

Dean Farris has been with West Virginia University since 1991 and has held several roles, including Coordinator for New Student Orientation, Assistant Dean in Residential Education, and Director of Housing and University Apartments. 

 

Dean Corey Farris has been a proud and dedicated supporter of Empty Bowls Monongalia for many years. He served as a board member for an extended period and continues to generously give his time and energy through ongoing volunteer efforts. His unwavering commitment and passion for addressing food insecurity have had a lasting and meaningful impact on our organization and the community we serve.

Corey has also played a pivotal role in strengthening the leadership of Empty Bowls by encouraging many others to join the board or volunteer at our events. His influence has created a ripple effect, expanding our reach and amplifying our mission.

Through his service with Empty Bowls and many other volunteer activities, Corey has been a tremendous asset to Monongalia County. His dedication to community service sets a powerful example of true leadership and continues to inspire those around him.

The WVU community is invited to a celebration honoring Dean of Students and Associate Vice President of Student Life, Corey Farris, who is set to retire after serving the University for more than three decades. The drop-in celebration will be held from 2–4 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25, in E. Moore Hall. Colleagues and friends are welcome to join in celebrating Dean Farris’s accomplished career.
